Winter is over, a good indication for that fact is that I saw the first butterfly today! In my flat there came a butterfly out of his chrysalis this morning. It was my new creation "Little butterfly"! He is in fact a peacock butterfly - as I am studying biology, I didn't want to make a bear with fantasy wings. I wanted to imitate a real species. Hopefully I succeeded! His wings are wired, so that he is able to move them. He has got 7 joints and is made of black short-pile mohair. I shaved his face, palms and soles. The claws at his toes are extra long. His face and Hands are sculpted. Additionally I shaded his face. Of course I didn't forget his antennae! In addition to the sheep's wool, I filled him with steel pellets.

He needs many plants and flowers around him resembling his natural habitat. His favourite food is honey or maple syrup. Besides he needs attention and hugs.
"Little butterfly" lives now with Isabel in Rodgau, Germany. There he found many orchids to get nectar from and a loving mum giving him hugs!
