Bears and Boots

Hallo Ihr Lieben, Teddybären machen und fotografieren macht mir einfach Spaß. Viel witziger ist es allerdings, Teddybären und Schuhe zu fotografieren - diese geniale Idee hatte Andy Cunningham von den Barbara-Ann Bears. Kurzerhand hat er auf Facebook eine Gruppe eröffnet, wo kreative Fotos von Teddies in, auf, vor oder neben Schuhen gepostet werden. Wenn Ihr diese Idee auch klasse findet, kontaktiert doch Andy und kommt in die Facebook Gruppe Bears and Boots. Hier eines meiner Bilder mit kleiner Geschichte:

Dear readers, I love making teddy bears and taking their photos. Even funnier is taking photos of teddies and shoes - this is the ingenious idea of Andy Cunningham from Barbara-Ann Bears. He quickly created a Facebook group, where creative photos are posted showing teddies in, on or next to shoes. If you also like this idea, please contact Andy and come to the Facebook group Bears and Boots. Above you can find a photo with a little story I've created.

Daffodil

Mögt Ihr Osterglocken? Nun, ich liebe sie, darum habe ich einen Teddybären gemacht, der "Daffodil" heißt und auch so aussieht wie eine Osterglocke.

Daffodil wurde nominiert für den TED worldwide 2012/2013.

Und dann hat er auch noch gewonnen!

Er hat den 1. Preis gewonnen beim TED worldwide 2013 in der Kategorie "Artist - Mixed materials undressed".

Ich habe grünen und gelben Mohairstoff verwendet und den typischen Blütenkelch habe ich aus dunkelgelber Wolle gefilzt. Details wie Zehen, Finger und Innenohren sind aus weichem gelbem Pfotenstoff gemacht. Sein Gesicht, Hände und seine Füße habe ich mit der Needlesculpting-Technik herausgeformt und mit ein bisschen Farbe schattiert. Seine Nase und die Krallen wurden hellgelbem Garn gestickt.

Mit seinen sechs Gelenken (Arme, Beine und doppeltes Halsgelenk) ist er ziemlich beweglich. Schließlich habe ich ihn mit Schafswolle und Mineralgranulat gefüllt um in ein bisschen schwerer zu machen.

"Daffodil" ist ein lustiger kleiner Teddybär, der seinen Menschen gerne lachen sieht. Er ist der Klassenclown - und gut darin. Wenn man traurig ist, findet er immer einen Weg einen wieder zum Lachen zu bringen. Morgens isst er gerne Spiegelei, weil er findet, dass das wie die Sonne aussieht. Seine Lieblingssüßigkeit sind saure Gummibärchen, da man ein lustiges saures Gesicht macht, wenn man sie isst. Daffodil bleibt bei mir.

Do you like daffodils? Well, I do, so I created a teddy bear called "Daffodil" who looks like one.

Daffodil has been nominated for TED worldwide 2012/2013.

In the end he even won!

He won the 1st prize at TED worldwide 2013 in the category "Artist - Mixed materials undressed".

He is made out of green and yellow mohair fabric and I used some dark yellow wool in order to felt the typical calyx. Details like fingers, toes and inner ears are made of yellow cashmere fabric. In order to shape his face, feet and hands I used the needle sculpting technique and I also applied some dye to shade details. His nose and claws have been stitched using a light yellow yarn.

With his six joints (arms, legs and double neck joints) he is quite movable. Finally, I filled him with sheep´s wool and mineral granules for additional weight.

"Daffodil" is a funny little teddy bear who likes to see you smile. He is the class comedian and he is good at it. If you are sad, he will always find a way to make you smile again. In the morning he likes to have a fried egg, he thinks it looks like the sun. His favourite sweets are sour jelly bears because if you eat them you sometimes make a funny face. Daffodil will stay with me.

Hallo Ihr Lieben, heute möchte ich Euch ein ganz besonders lustiges Kerlchen vorstellen: Daffodil. Als ich dieses Jahr wieder so viel Freude an den blühenden Osterglocken hatte, habe ich mich gefragt, warum ich eigentlich noch keinen Osterglocken-Teddybären gemacht habe.
























Nun ja, da ist er und sein Name ist Programm. Daffodil hat einen gefilzten Blütenkelch und die Blütenblätter an seinem Hinterkopf erinnern sehr an die Osterglocke. Zum Glück verblüht Daffodil nicht und kann das ganze Jahr über Freude bringen. Ich hoffe, er gefällt Euch! Mehr Fotos und Infos gibt es auf unserer Website.

Dear readers, today I would love to introduce you to an especially funny little teddy bear: Daffodil. When I enjoyed the flowering daffodils again this spring, I wondered why I have never made a teddy bear looking like a daffodil.


Well, here he is and his name tells everything. Daffodil has a felted calyx and his petals at the back of his head resemble the real daffodil's petals. Colour blocking my way

Hallo Ihr Lieben, in der Mode ist es ja gerade in, das Colour Blocking. In der Mode werden dabei knallige Farben kombiniert. Da ich mit knallbunter Kleidung nichts anfangen kann, hab ich mal wieder meinen Balkon verschönert und jetzt knallen die Blütenfarben wieder in pink und orange.

Nachdem meine pinken Gänseblümchen (Bellis perennis) und die pinken und orangefarbenen Primeln (Primula sp.) verblüht waren, musste einfach wieder diese Farbkombi her! Zur Zeit finde ich das einfach toll. Wie man sehen kann, ist die Hummel einer Meinung mit mir und lässt sich den süßen Nektar der Studentenblume (Tagetes erecta) schmecken :0) Kleinblütige pinke Dahlien (Dahlia sp.) bilden übrigens den Kontrast. Was haltet Ihr davon?

Dear readers, in the fashion scene, color blocking is so in, right now. As a result, fashion people combine strong colors in their outfits. Since I am not very keen on colorful outfits, I decorated my balcony instead. Now, strong pink and orange flowers make my balcony beautiful.

After my pink daisies (Bellis perennis) and the pink and orange primroses (Primula sp.) had faded, I just had to pick this colors, again! I just love it, right now. As you can see, the bumblebee agrees with me and enjoys the sweet nectar of my marigold (Tagetes erecta) :0) By the way, small pink dahlia (Dahlia sp.) contrast with the marigold. So, what do you think?

Espresso

Darf ich Euch "Espresso" vorstellen? Er ist "Latte Macchiatos" und "Cappuccinos" Brüderchen.

"Espresso" ist aus Alpaka gemacht, der wunderbar weich ist. Natürlich habe ich "Espresso" hauptsächlich kaffeebraunen Alpakastoff verwendet und Details sind aus karamellfarbenem Alpaka gemacht, um die Crema oben drauf darzustellen. Geschorener karamellfarbener Alpakastoff bedeckt Zehen, Finger, Innenohren und Schnauze. Sein Gesicht, Hände und seine Füße habe ich mit der Needlesculpting-Technik herausgeformt. Seine Nase und die Krallen wurden mit dunkelbraunem Garn gestickt, das an Kaffeebohnen erinnert.

Mit seinen acht Gelenken (Arme, Handgelenke, Beine und doppeltes Halsgelenk) ist er sehr beweglich. Schließlich habe ich ihn mit Schafswolle und Mineralgranulat für mehr Gewicht gefüllt.

"Espresso" ist ein aufgeweckter kleiner Teddybär, vielleicht ein wenig hyperaktiv, aber sehr liebenswert. Dieses kleine Kerlchen kann einem nachts den Schlaf rauben, wenn man ihn nicht knuddelt bevor man ihn zu Bett bringt. Ein Glas Milch und einige Cantuccini sind auch O.K. Nach dem Mittagessen kann er auch mal einen Espresso vertragen. Am Morgen liebt er den Duft von Kaffee und den Geschmack von Pancakes mit Ahornsirup.

Nun lebt Espresso glücklich bei Ricky in den Niederlanden und hält seine bärigen Geschwister wach.

May I introduce "Espresso" to you? He is "Cappuccino´s" and "Latte Macchiato's" brother.

"Espresso" is made out of alpaka fabric which is wonderfully soft. Of course, I made "Espresso" mainly out of coffee brown alpaca fabric and details are made of caramel coloured alpaca fabric, in order to represent the crema on top. Shaved caramel fabric covers toes, fingers, inner ears and snout. In order to shape his face, feet and hands I used the needle sculpting technique. His nose and claws have been stitched using a dark brown yarn which resembles coffee beans.

With his eight joints (arms, wrists, legs and double neck joints) he is very movable. Finally, I filled him with sheep´s wool and mineral granules for additional weight.

"Espresso" is a bright little teddy bear, maybe a little hyperactive, but very loveable. This little fellow might keep you up at night unless you hug him before you put him to bed. A glass of milk and some cantuccini will also do. After lunch, he can have an espresso. And in the morning, he loves the smell of coffee and the taste of pancakes with maple syrup. 

Now, Espresso is living happily at Ricky's in the Netherlands, keeping his brothers awake.

Hallo Ihr Lieben, diejenigen, die Angst hatten, dass ich nur noch Teddies in Space mache, kann ich beruhigen. Heute ist wieder ein One-toe-bear fertig geworden. Espresso ist ein ganz aufgewecktes Kerlchen aus Alpaka mit ganz viel Crema oben drauf. Ich hoffe, er gefällt Euch. Mehr Fotos wird es bald zu sehen geben.

Dear readers, if you were worried that I will only make Teddies in Space in future, I can reassure you. Today, a new One-toe-bear has been born. Espresso is a bright little fellow made out of alpaca with a lot of Crema on top. I hope you like him. More photos will be online, soon.

Easter greetings

Hallo Ihr Lieben, heute möchte ich Euch einen ganz lieben Ostergruß senden. Leider ist bei uns das Osterfest ziemlich verregnet. Deshalb möchte ein paar bunte frühlingshafte Fotos mit Euch teilen. Das sind Frühlingsblüher, die ich vor Kurzem auf meinem Balkon gepflanzt habe. Ich hoffe, sie heitern Euch genauso wie mich auf.

Dieses Jahr habe ich mich getraut mal pink und orange zu kombinieren - es hat sich gelohnt, findet Ihr nicht auch? Manchmal muss man sich eben überwinden und was Neues versuchen! Narzissen dürfen bei mir dieses Jahr auch nicht fehlen - diese  Blumen sind mir einfach sympathisch.

Hello dear readers, today, I would like to wish you a very happy Easter. Here, in the South of Germany, the Easter days are a bit spoiled by rain. For this reason, I would like to share with you some colorful springlike photos of the flowers I've recently planted on my balcony. I hope, they will cheer you up as much as they cheer me up.

This year, I was very courageous and tried some new color combination - pink and orange. And it is well worth it, don't you think? Sometimes, one has to dare to try something new. Well, I also have daffodils on my balcony. They appeal to me, so I don't want to miss them.

heute möchte ich Euch gleich noch einen neuen Teddy in Space vorstellen. Er ist dunkelrot, 43 cm groß und pummeliger als die anderen Teddies in Space.

Hier noch ein Gruppenfoto - zusammen geben die Teddies in Space einfach ein tolles Bild ab. Und sie sind immer zu Scherzen aufgelegt. Mehr zu den Teddies in Space könnt Ihr hier lesen.
