Candy

Darf ich euch "Candy" vorstellen? "Candy" nimmt ihren Lolly überall mit hin.

Ihren Lolly habe ich aus FIMO gemacht, während ihr Fell ein tolles pink und lila besprühtes langfloriges Mohair ist. Weiterhin habe ich naturweißes Cashmere für "Candys" Zehen, Innenohren, Schnauze und Finger verwendet. Zusätzlich sind ihr Gesicht, die Zehen und Finger mit der Nadel skulptiert. Sie hat auch eine kleine Zunge. Die ist aus Filz. Übrigens sind Nase und Krallen mit rosa Garn gestickt.

Schließlich trägt "Candy" noch eine Schleife aus Zackenlitze und ich habe ihre Sohle mit der gleichen Zackenlitze dekoriert. Ich finde, die Zackenlitze sieht wie Zuckerguss aus. Daher habe ich sie für "Candy" ausgesucht, sie sollte wie bunte Süßigkeiten aussehen, die man auf Volksfesten wie dem Oktoberfest bekommt: Zuckerwatte, Lebkuchenherzen, riesige Lollys und kandierte Äpfel. Wenn Ihr Euch wundert, dass sie so schwer ist, sie isst so viele Süßigkeiten… naja, ich gebe zu, ich habe Mineralgranulat verwendet um ein schönes Gewicht bei der Kleinen zu erreichen.

Wenn man sie immer mit Süßigkeiten und viel Liebe versorgt, wird "Candy" ein gutes Mädchen sein. Allerdings darf man ihr nicht ihren Lolly wegnehmen, dann wird sie quengelig und ungezogen. "Candys" großer Traum ist es, einmal mit einem Riesenrad zu fahren. 

May I introduce "Candy" to you? "Candy" always takes her lolly with her.

I've made her lolly out of FIMO, while her fur is a fabulous pink and purple shaded white longpile mohair. Furthermore, I used off-white cashmere fabric for "Candys" toes, inner ears, snout and fingers. Additionally, her face, toes and fingers have been needle sculpted. She has got a little tongue, too. It is made out of felt. By the way, nose and claws have been stitched using pink yarn.

Finally, "Candy" wears a bow made of zigzag braid and I decorated her sole with the same zigzag braid. I think, the zigzag braid looks like frosting. This is why I chose it to decorate "Candy", she should look like the colourful candy you get at fairs like Oktoberfest: cotton candy, gingerbread hearts, huge lollies and toffee apples. If you wonder why she is so heavy, she eats so much candy… well, I admit, I used mineral granules to achieve a nice weight for the little girl.

Hallo Ihr Lieben, heute ist mein neuer Teddybär "Candy" fertig geworden. Ich freue mich sehr, Euch jetzt schon die ersten Fotos zeigen zu können. Die Kleine liebt Süßigkeiten wie Lollies, Zuckerwatte oder Honig über alles. Deshalb hat sie auch einen Riesenlolly bekommen.

Hirschbrunft+neuer Teddy / Red Deer rut+new teddy

Hallo Ihr Lieben, ihr habt Euch sicher schon gefragt, wann der nächste Teddy fertig ist. Natürlich bin ich nicht untätig und der neue Teddy ist bereits in Arbeit. Bevor ich Euch das erste Bild des noch unfertigen Bärchens zeige, möchte ich Euch ein paar Bilder von letztem Wochenende zeigen.

Es ist Rothirschbrunft und wir haben ein Wildgehege im Naturpark Schönbuch besucht. Es war spannend, wir haben zwei männliche Rothirsche (Cervus elaphus) gesehen. Einer röhrte laut und wir rechneten schon mit einem Kampf. Doch der andere ergriff die Flucht und so kam es zu keinem Kampf. Dafür stellte sich der Feigling direkt vor die Linse und meinte, er wäre ein Model. So konnten wir tolle Bilder machen, während der Rivale weiter laut röhrte und um die Hirschkühe warb. Übrigens haben wir gelesen, dass das Geweih eines Rothirsches im Schönbuch bis zu 9 kg wiegen kann! Arme Hirsche, ist es einmal gewachsen, tragen sie es monatelang mit sich herum, sie können ihr schweres Geweih nicht mal für kurze Zeit ablegen.

Meine neue Kreation hat nichts mit Hirschen zu tun. Der Teddy wird lila, pink, rosa (siehe Foto unten)... bald ist er fertig, dann zeige ich Euch mehr!

Dear friends, you may have wondered when the next teddy will be born. Of course, I am not lazy and the new teddy bear is already developing in my hands. Before I show you my unfinished new creation I'd like to show you a few photos we took last weekend.

It is Red Deer rut and we visited a game reserve at the tiny national park (natural park) called Schönbuch. It was exciting, we saw two stags (Red Deer, Cervus elaphus). One of them was roaring loudly and we were preparing to see a clash of antlers. Thus, the other rival stag turned tail and fled in order to avoid a fight. Instead of a fight, we saw the coward stag behaving like a male model, walking up and down the fence just a few metres away from us. In this way, we were able to take great photos, while the other roaring rival was attracting hinds. By the way, we read that the antlers of the Red Deer living at the nature park Schönbuch can weigh up to 9 kg! Poor stags, once grown they wear their antlers for months, they can not even take off their heavy antlers for a while.

My new creation has nothing to do with Red Deer. The teddy will be purple, pink, lilac (see photo above)... he'll soon be finished, then I am going to show you more!

late summer colours

Hallo Ihr Lieben, heute möchte ich Euch meinen spätsommerlichen Balkon zeigen. In dem großen Blumentopf habe ich fröhliches Gelb mit Weiß kombiniert. Bei der Auswahl der Pflanzen habe ich mir eine schöne gelbe Chrysantheme (Chrysanthemum) herausgepickt und die zierliche Sommerheide (Calluna) in weiß. Ergänzt habe ich die Bepflanzung mit panaschiertem Efeu (Hedera) und einem besonders zierlichen Gras (Festuca). Schließlich windet sich die letzte Kapuzinerkresse (Tropaeolum) dieses Sommers nach oben, mit wunderschönen tief-gelben Blüten.


Die zweite, spätsommerlich gestaltete Ecke meines Balkons entstand eigentlich mehr aus der Not. Als weiteres Souvenir aus den Niederlanden habe ich mir nämlich Tulpenzwiebeln (Hollands Glory) mitgebracht. Jetzt ist die beste Zeit um die Zwiebeln in die Erde zu bringen, damit im nächsten Frühjahr die Tulpen blühen. Bis es soweit ist habe ich die Blumentöpfe hübsch dekoriert.

Hello, today I would like to show you my late summer balcony. In this big flower pot I mixed cheerful yellow flowers with white ones. For my arrangement I chose a beautiful yellow chrysanthemum and a delicate white Calluna. In order to complete my planting, I picked a white speckled ivy and a very dainty grass (Festuca). Eventually, this summer's last nasturtium (Tropaeolum) winds its way up, showing vibrant yellow flowers.


And there is a second corner of my balcony I arranged in a late summer style. As another souvenir I brought some tulip bulbs (Hollands Glory) from Holland. Now is the best time to put the bulbs into the soil in order to have blooming tulips next spring. In the meantime, I decorated the flowerpots in late summer colours.

Teddies in Space

Es tut mir leid, dass ich mich so lange nicht gemeldet habe. Derzeit habe ich viel mit Jobwechsel zu tun und jetzt hatte mich auch noch die Grippe erwischt. Aber ich fühle mich jetzt besser und ich verspreche, ich werde wieder mehr schreiben. Zuerst möchte ich Euch noch ein Souvenir zeigen, das ich aus Holland mitgebracht habe. Ein tolles Bild von Philipp Jordan, der gerne Teddies als Symbol für die Kindheit malt. Ich wollte schon lange ein Bild von diesem Künstler - sein Label heißt übrigens Teddies in Space.

I am so sorry for not writing for so long. These days, I am quite busy changing jobs and this week, I caught the flu in addition. Now I feel better and I promise I will write more frequently. First of all, I'd like to show you a souvenir I brought from the Netherlands this summer. A great painting of Philipp Jordan's, who likes to draw teddy bears relating to his main theme, the childhood. I've always wanted to buy one of Philipp Jordan's artwork - his label is called Teddies in Space, by the way.

Froschkönig / Frog Prince

Dieser "Froschkönig" ist meine fellige Interpretation des bekannten Märchens, das von den Gebrüdern Grimm aufgeschrieben wurde.

"Froschkönig" kommt mit einem selbstgefilzten Seerosenblatt daher, auf dem er gerne sitzt. Weiterhin hat dieser Teddybär eine abnehmbare selbstgemachte Krone, die mit Knöpfen, Glasperlen und Straßsteinen verziert ist.

Mit seinen dicken Froschbacken kann man "Froschkönig" leicht als Frosch erkennen. Sein isargrünes selbstgefärbtes Fell (kurzfloriger Mohair) trägt sogar noch zu seiner froschigen Erscheinung bei. Dunkelgrüne Schattierungen und Punkte auf Rücken und Schultern passen genau dazu. Wie man sehen kann, habe ich hellgrünen Cashmere für Schnauze, Innenohren, Zehen und Finger verwendet. "Froschkönigs" Gesicht, Hände und Füße wurden mit der Nadel skulptiert und ich habe die Trapunto Technik für seine Zehen angewendet.

Seine 8 Gelenke machen ihn sehr beweglich. Zudem hat er noch starken Draht in seinen Beinen, sodass er seine Knie beugen kann wie ein Frosch. Schließlich habe ich "Froschkönig" mit Schafwolle und Mineralgranulat gefüllt. Dunkelgrüne gestickte Krallen und Nase runden diesen Teddybären ab.

"Froschkönig" ist ein loyaler warmherziger Teddybär, der sich nicht verwandeln wird, also bitte nicht gegen die Wand werfen. Er liebt grüne Dinge und Teiche, aber er mag keine goldenen Kugeln, da er schlechte Erfahrungen mit so einem Ding gemacht hat. Seine Lieblingssüßigkeiten sind Gummibären und Eiscreme und alles mit Waldmeistergeschmack. "Froschkönig" möchte einfach Gesellschaft und Liebe, dann wird er immer ein treuer Freund sein.

"Froschkönig" hat bereits ein neues Zuhause gefunden und wohnt jetzt bei Günter in Horb, Deutschland. Günters Frau wird "Froschkönig" unter dem Weihnachtsbaum finden. Ich hoffe, sie wird sich sofort in ihren neuen Teddybären verlieben.

This "Frog Prince" is my furry interpretation of the well known fairy tale written down by Brothers Grimm.

"Frog Prince" comes with a handfelted water lily leaf to sit on. Furthermore this teddy bear has got a removable handmade crown, decorated with buttons, beads and paste gems.

With his puffed out cheeks "Frog Prince" can easily be recognized as a frog. His river green handdyed fur (short pile mohair) even contributes to his froglike appearance. Dark green shades and polka dots on back and shoulders match perfectly. As you can see, I used light green cashmere for his snout, inner ears, toes and fingers. "Frog Prince's" face, hands and feet have been needle sculpted and I used trapunto technique for his toes.

His 8 joints make him very movable. Moreover, he has got strong wire in his legs, so that he can bend his knees froglike. Finally, I filled "Frog Prince" with sheep's wool and mineral granules. Dark green stitched claws and nose complete this teddy bear.

"Frog Prince" is a loyal caring teddy bear, who won't shapeshift, so please don't throw him against the wall. He loves green things and ponds, but he doesn't like golden balls, since he has made bad experiences with such a thing. His favourite sweets are gummy bears and ice cream and everything with woodruff flavour. "Frog Prince" just wants your company and hugs, then he will always be your best friend.

"Frog Prince" found a new home at Günter's in Horb, Germany. Günter's wife will find "Frog Prince" under the Christmas tree. I hope, she will immediately fall in love with her new teddy bear.

Froschkönig am Sonntag / Frog Prince on a Sunday

Das Wetter hat mitgespielt und ich konnte "Froschkönig" bei wunderbarem Wetter fotografieren, wie er auf seinem Seerosenblatt im Teich schwimmt. Ich dachte immer, die Lehre von der Geschichte wäre, man sollte sich auch Frösche (auf den ersten Blick unscheinbare Männer) genauer anschauen, vielleicht entpuppen sie sich bei näherer Betrachtung als Prinzen. Tja, Psychologen sehen in der Geschichte mehr einen Reifeprozess, die Pubertät, die Selbstfindung des Mädchens. Trotzdem glaube ich immer noch an meine viel romantischere Deutung!

I always believed that the story was all about reminding girls that they should give a frog (a man who is quite unobtrusive at first sight) a chance, he might turn out to be a prince on closer examination. Well, psychologists see in this fairy tale a story about coming of age, puberty, a girl learning to understand herself. However, I still believe in my very romantic kind of interpretation!
